If you're considering becoming Catholic, or a Catholic that never received First Communion or Confirmation, then we invite you to try the RCIA process (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
Whether you are set on joining the Catholic Church or you simply want to explore the possibility, we believe that RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the perfect place to have your questions answered.
Not sure if you want to become Catholic? Not a problem! The initial sessions are set-up in such a way so as to create a place of safety for you and any thoughts and questions that you might bring with you. We have found this truly an essential part of the process so that when discussions of the more difficult topics arise we can seek Truth together. Whether you were raised Catholic and are now seeking further sacraments or you have never stepped in a Church before, you will have a place to belong here.
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults introduces adults to the teachings of the Catholic Church, the Bible, and the Sacramental Life. Although specifically designed for those thinking about becoming Catholic, this program is a safe place for all others who are simply curious about the Catholic Church.
RCIA prepares men and women to make a conscious choice whether or not they want to receive the sacraments of initiation offered by the Catholic Church (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation).
Although we do not accept children into the RCIA program, we do have other available sacrament classes that coincide with RCIA so that at the Easter Vigil, all members of the family might receive their sacraments together!
Check out the "Youth" menu of our webpage to see what would be the best fit for them!
This is the right place for you! We know that life could have taken some odd turns, that is why our sessions speak both to those who have never been exposed to Jesus as well as those who have some previous knowledge of Him.
We know that after some of us received our Confirmation, further education in the faith was limited or non-existent. This has led to many questions with which we find ourselves wrestling. We have found that in these situations it is better to come to our "Discipleship Nights" and explore some of the other ministries that are offered here at St. Bridget!
Our adults in RCIA have an opportunity to grow in their relationship with God, themselves, and the other adults who are also considering joining the Catholic Church. At our weekly sessions, we learn together, ask questions, and encourage one another in our journey of faith. St. Bridget's RCIA will begin meeting in September 2023. If your work schedule or some other issue makes this day and time problematic, please let us know, and we will work something out for you.
The first step to explore the RCIA process is to contact Deacon John Gibson at [email protected] so that together we can discover the best way to help you grow closer to Christ and His Church.
"If up till now you have kept Him at a distance, step forward. He will receive you with open arms. If you have been indifferent, take a risk: you won't be disappointed. If following Him seems difficult, don't be afraid, trust Him, be confident that He is close to you." - Pope Francis
