Lent Extra Daily Mass
As we have done in past years, we will be adding a 5:30pm weekday Mass (Monday-Friday) during the Lenten season. Weekday Masses are typically 30 minutes in length. The 5:30pm Mass begins on Thursday, February 23.
Lent Confession Times
Wednesday 7:30-8:00am and 6:00-6:30pm
Saturday 8:45-9:30am and 3:30-4:15pm
Sunday 9:15-9:45am
Stations of the Cross
On Fridays during Lent, we’ll pray the Stations of the Cross. Click HERE for the Stations of the Cross schedule. Join us each Friday from 6:30-7:15pm in the Church. The Stations will also be livestreamed. Since it is difficult to see our Stations of the Cross through the Church windows, we will have a pictorial image of each Station on the livestream so that you can enter more deeply into the prayer experience of walking with Jesus. Cor Iesu with Stations of the Cross
You and your family are invited to join us for Cor Iesu on Friday, March 3, at 6:30pm. Since this will happen during in Lent, we will begin the night with Adoration and Stations of the Cross. After stations have concluded there will be a brief period of silence before praise and worship begins. We will also be having confessions beginning immediately after stations.
Be Reconciled Day
The Rockford Diocese will once again offer a “Be Reconciled Day”. On Wednesday, March 29, all the churches in the Diocese will be open from 9:00am-8:00pm in order to offer the faithful an opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. At St. Bridget, all three priests will be available to celebrate the sacrament with those who choose to participate. Confession locations will be in the Cry Room and Meeting Room off of the Narthex of the Church. Both behind a screen and face to face options will be available.
Hope for Haitians
For a parish almsgiving project during Lent, we’ll focus on Hope for Haitians as we have done the past few years. On Ash Wednesday and the first weekend in Lent, we’ll be distributing donation boxes which you can take home. Spare change and donations can be placed in your donation box and be brought back at the end of Lent or at Easter. Find out more about this ministry that began in the Rockford Diocese
During Lent, we will focus our almsgiving on supporting the work of Hope for Haitians. Based in the Rockford Diocese, this charity serves the poorest of the poor in Northeast Haiti. Your gifts this Lent will be joined with the gifts from other Catholic faithful in our Diocese and transformed into homes, clean water, and an opportunity for self-sufficiency for 60 families in Northeast Haiti. There are boxes or envelopes available for your donations. Please help this worthy cause that is providing the works of mercy to families in desperate need. Thank you for your generous hearts to help the poorest of the poor.
