We understand how sometimes life can get ahead of us, and we know that it is important to have the support of your parish family as your children journey through life. We are happy to assist you in preparing your child for the sacraments!
Please know that we will be happy to welcome all children to prepare for Baptism no matter their age. If you have a child who has not yet been baptized, please contact the parish office at 815-633-6311. We will then help you sign up for a pre-baptismal instruction class. We are so excited to be able to welcome your child into the faith!
What a gift it is to be able to encounter Christ through the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion! We are happy to welcome you and assist in any way we can. We invite you to contact us if you have any questions.
First Communion traditionally takes place when children are in the 2nd Grade. It is highly encouraged that students have two years of religious instruction either at St. Bridget School or in the Religious Education program prior to receiving the sacraments of Reconciliation & Eucharist (First Holy Communion).
Families should sign up their children to participate in the Family of Faith Religious Education Program for Grades K-7. The preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion will take place in the spring semester of the Religious Education program. Families with children in 3rd Grade through High School who haven't received their First Communion are encouraged to sign up those children for preparation too.
An online registration form and First Communion calendar are available for you. When registering, a family only needs to fill out one form for both Religious Education and First Communion registration. For program questions, contact Kay Ethington at 815-633-6311 or email@example.com.
