We receive new life in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism as we are baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We become a child of God in the fullest sense, we are washed clean of any taint of sin, and we are welcomed into the Body of Christ, the Church. Our Christian journey begins with baptism. Through the faith witness of our parents and godparents, our life in God continues to grow.
Baptism is one of the Sacraments of Initiation (along with Eucharist and Confirmation). Baptism is the sacrament of new life. We become a child of God through this sacrament and enter into God’s family, the Church.
If you are interested in having your infant baptized, please read this Baptism Packet. It contains information about Godparents and scheduling a baptism.
While most children are baptized as infants, it is also possible to have your child baptized if he or she is older. If you have a child or teen who needs baptized, call the Parish Office 815-633-6311 for more information.
If you are an adult and have never been baptized, we have a program for you. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) prepares those who need sacraments.
May God bless you and all who receive the sacrament of new life in Baptism.
